Demonstrative pronouns are words that point to specific people, places, things, or ideas. They are used to replace a noun and show whether it is near or far in relation to the speaker.

The main demonstrative pronouns in English are:

  • This → singular, near (e.g., This is my book.)

  • That → singular, far (e.g., That is your pen.)

  • These → plural, near (e.g., These are my friends.)

  • Those → plural, far (e.g., Those are your shoes.)

Lets now find out what the demonstrative pronouns are in Konkani.
